matthew walton

Matthew Walton is passionate about architecture that is both livable and highly contextual through designing buildings that enhance the way we live while also making a positive contribution to our cities.

Through a highly collaborative approach, Matthew aims for each of Walton Architecture’s projects to be a true reflection of the aspirations of their clients.

Matthew is a registered architect in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria with 15 years of experience in the construction industry and has been the recipient of multiple awards, including the Qld Institute of Architect’s Gold Medallion, and the Board of Architects Qld Prize for excellence in design. Matthew is also a finalist for the international INDE Design Awards and DWP Architectural Prize, along with the winner of the Peter Hale Cox Architecture Prize.

Lachlan first joined the architecture team in November of 2023. His passion for architecture includes designing spaces that have an authentic connection to landscape and that are grounded in place. 

Lachlan's list of favourite architects includes Peter Stuchbury, whom he learnt from while completing his masterclass intensive as a part of OZ.E.TECTURE. 

Lachlan's other interests include music, having written, recorded and released music under his own name, as well as playing drums in a band.

ACCREDITATION

Walton Architecture is registered with the following industry bodies. To practice as an Architect in Australia, the Architect and architecture practice must have an active registration in the state where they are situated and where they are practicing. While based in Brisbane, Walton Architecture is registered in QLD, NSW and VIC.
